Al Ems was the City of Arnold's third Mayor, serving three terms from 1981-1993. He was a member of the City Council from 1973-1981 and then elected to serve in 2000 and again in 2002 and 2004.

Al is a Council representative to the Economic Development Commission and the serves on the Police Pension Review Board. Al has lived in Arnold for more than 52 years and is a retired tool & die maker.
